Welcome on a journey of flavors in the Mathildedal artisan village appreciating handmade delicacies and locally produced ingredients. Get to know the history of Mathildedal ironworks village, taste the handmade chocolate, locally brewed village beer and coffee from the village roastery. Visit the village baker who makes artisan sourdough bread. Get acquainted with the village alpacas and visit the alpaca wool mill and its boutique shop. Itinerary
Self-guided with an artesanmap approx. 4 hours. Artisan tour program for individuals (selfguided): 1. Cafe Mathildedal Handmade traditional Finnish sweet and savoury delicaties made from local ingredients. 2. Restaurant Ruukin Krouvi offers pure and fresh tastes in a rustique atmosphere. 3. Kaarnalaiva handmade wooden brushes and baskets. 4. Alpaca farm and alpaca mill. In the middle of village there is an alpaca farm with its mill and lifestyle boutique specializing in knitted alpaca wool clothing. 5. Village weavery has traditional Finnish interior textiles made and designed by the owner. 6. Second Chance provides an individual clothing collection for women and children manufactured in Finland. The recycled textiles are fashion industry waste with own unique prints. 7. Restaurant Mathildan Marina offers traditional finnish fish dishes by the seaside. 8. Matildankartano The old manor house is a popular sourdough bakery and bakery restaurant hosted by the village baker and the village brewer. The bread and sweet buns are baked with sourdough. 9. The Village Brewery is a small but ambitious craft brewery aiming to brew beers that will become classics. Visit the brewery shop and bar and taste the village in a glass. 10. Pub Terho offers locally brewed beers & ciders as well as self-rosted coffee. They offer live music. Beer garden. 11. PetriS Chocolate offers internationally awarded handcrafted chocolates, cakes and local food served in the café and in the garden.
