Historical mining path in Seiffen

The round route through the centre of Seiffen, called "The Historical Mining Trail," was created for visitors and fans of mining more than thirty years ago by a group of mining researchers. Both circles of the Mining Path begin above the Seiffen mountain church in Deutschneudorfer Straße. The orientation board there explains the course of the small circle through the former mining centre of Seiffen. The circle has 28 stops with information panels in the form of "a German mine framing reinforcement" with a detaileddescription of the location. The route is about two kilometres long and can be completed in 1 - 1,5 hours.The large circle runs along the listed and naturally protectedmining dumps, around the entrances to the former galleries,the replicas of the stamp-mills, and the many rest areas withbeautiful views of the Seiffenbach stream valley. This route is about 14 km long and can be completed in 4 - 5 hours.
