Welcome to the toy-making village of Seiffen: with the decline of mining in the 18th century, making wooden toys became the decisive profession – since the middle of the 19th century, Seiffen is also very famous for its production of Christmas products.
The world-famous toy-making village of Seiffen was first mentioned in a document in 1324. The former Cynsifen lies picturesquely embedded in a basin in the heart of the Erzgebirge. With an altitude of 650 to 700 metres above sea level, the village is almost on the ridge of the Erzgebirge. Since 1956 Seiffen is a state-approved tourism resort.
Traditions, craftsmanship and passion in dealing with the material wood have shaped Seiffen in an impressive way to what it is today: A centre of handicraft and tradition.
